Full marathon cut off: Full marathoners must pass through Tsin Shui Wan Au and begin climbing the Twins before 1430 or be required to descend to Repulse Bay.
Full Marathon - Maximum Allowed Time 6.5 hours – 3 water stops

Parker Rd. - Dirt trail above Tai Tam Reservoir - streambed by HK Trail - Tai Tam Reservoir Rd. - Tai Tam Intermediate Reservoir - Tsin Shui Wan Au - The Twins - Catchwater above Stanley Gap Road - Tsin Shui Wan Au - Repulse Bay Beach finish.
Half Marathon - Maximum Allowed Time 4.5 hours – 2 water stops

Race Course Hints and Suggestions
Maps - Although the course will be marked with green arrows and green and white ribbons, the arrows tend to fade overtime. Purchasing a Hong Kong Island Country Park Map to take along on the run may be helpful if questions arise. Racers are also advised to familiarize themselves with the course ahead of time.
Water - One water stop will be provided at Quarry Gap (Tai Fung Au) about 60% of the way through each course. There are no obvious places to purchase water along the course so runners are advised to prepare accordingly and carry water sufficient for their own needs.
Weather - It can still be hot this time of the year and approximately 50% of each course is exposed to direct sunlight. Hats and sunscreen are recommended.
Trail Conditions - Portions of the trail are on steep and rough ground. Only a few portions are overgrown. The section past General Rock heading up to Mt. Parker on the full marathon course is particularly steep and rough and can be quite slippery. Both the full and half marathon courses also go down a sandy slope and through a stream beginning about 3 km after the water stop. If it has rained recently, it will be slippery. Be prepared for rough, outback conditions; despite the close proximity to civilization, this is a mountain trail race!
Although the trail will be marked with green arrows and green and white ribbons, previous history suggests that there are a few common places where runners lose the trail:
1) On the full marathon course, after turning right on Sir Cecil's Ride Trail from the Wilson Trail down Siu Ma Shan, Sir Cecil's Ride Trail terminates at Mt. Parker Rd. The course goes right up Mt. Parker Rd. for only a short distance before turning left down a side road and immediately right onto a dirt trail. Do not continue up Mt. Parker Rd. to Quarry Gap.
2) After the water stop at Quarry Gap, both the full and half marathon course proceed south along a dirt contour trail to the west and below the summit of Mt. Parker. Near Boa Vista, this trail becomes a paved service road and hooks back in a northwesterly direction toward Mt. Parker Rd. and the Hong Kong Trail. At this intersection, the marathon courses turn sharply to the left and up a set of stairs toward a power pylon.
3) After joining Tai Tam Reservoir Rd., the both courses cross a small bridge by Tai Tam Intermediate Reservoir and turn immediately right after the bridge toward Tsin Shui Wan Au.
